Roberts runs its own metal fabrication shop, cutting and welding the custom steel behind our furniture. When a system needs a part that no longer exists or a specification no catalog covers, we fabricate it ourselves — without the expense or waste of a middle man.
Our metal fabrication shop produces custom steel for the systems and casework we build — accommodating requirements standard product lines cannot.
Custom-fabricated steel for healthcare systems and K-12 educational systems, built to the specifications those environments demand.
Casework, base cabinets, and wall unit cabinets fabricated to spec — sized and configured for the space rather than forced to fit a stock unit.
Desk systems, work surfaces, and conference tables, fabricated to dimensions that standard office furniture and measurements do not cover.
Remanufacturing depends on sound steel. Office furniture can be remanufactured many times over because of the inherent durability of its steel — so the frame underneath a restored system has to be as sound as the surface looks. When a component is beyond repair or no longer made, our metal shop fabricates a replacement equal to or better than the original.
Owning the fabrication also means owning the schedule. We cut and weld our own custom steel rather than wait on an outside supplier, which lets us meet unique requirements and avoid the expense and waste of a middle man.
Steel cut and shaped to the original specification or a new drawing, matched to the system or casework it has to fit.
Parts cut and welded together to exact dimensions — built to carry the load a contract system holds for years.
Fabricated steel moves to our own baked-on powder coating process for a durable, long-lasting finish before it is built into the system.
Our fabrication shop is also where surplus steel earns a second life. When a panel is beyond repair, we strip its tubular frame and send the metal to be cut and welded into mobile panel carts that move product through production and field installations.
Beyond the carts, excess scrap metal becomes connectors, flat plates, cutting jigs, and other tooling for our own facilities — reflecting the same principle that runs through everything we make: nature wastes nothing, nor do we.
Send us the drawing, the discontinued part number, or the requirement no catalog covers. Our metal shop will fabricate it in-house and finish it on our own line. Call (315) 451-9185 or request a quote to get started.
