Roberts Office Furniture Concepts, Inc. is a multigenerational remanufacturer in Liverpool, New York — one of the few NC3R-certified office furniture remanufacturers in the United States. The work is real and hands-on: Steelcase systems restored to a standard indistinguishable from new, plus millwork, metal fabrication, finishing, and installation.
Roberts designs, fabricates, and remanufactures office furniture in its own shops. The people who quote a project are close to the people who build it — here is what that means for the people who do the work.
Panels rebuilt, frames fabricated, finishes laid down to spec. Systems are fully dismantled, inspected, repaired or replaced, refinished, and reassembled — and you see what you made roll out the door onto a client's floor.
In business since 1991, with NC3R certification earned through process, not marketing. A diversified, multi-discipline shop means work that does not dry up between projects — and we hire the same way we build: for the long run.
Remanufacturing, millwork, metal fabrication, powder coating, upholstery, and installation all happen here. People who start on one discipline can learn the next as the shop grows into new capabilities.

Roberts runs its own shop disciplines rather than handing the work to outside vendors — remanufacturing, millwork, metal fabrication, finishing, and installation are all in-house. These are the kinds of roles the company hires for as it grows.
Historically, Roberts has recruited experienced furniture installers and warehouse staff to keep projects moving from the shop floor to the client site. Skilled-trades people who take pride in tolerance, finish, and a job left clean tend to recognize this kind of work.
Strip, inspect, repair, refinish, and rebuild steel-framed Steelcase and Herman Miller systems to a standard indistinguishable from new — the NC3R-certified core of the shop.
Mill casework, desks, work surfaces, and conference tables, and fabricate the steel frames and components everything else is built on.
Lay down durable, baked-on powder-coated finishes and recover panels and seating — the finishing trades that decide whether a system reads as new across a whole floor.
Deliver, install, reconfigure, and decommission on client sites, and keep the warehouse and inventory moving so projects ship on schedule.
For installation roles, Roberts has historically looked for experienced furniture installers comfortable reading blueprints and installation paperwork, with knowledge of systems furniture, casegoods, and floor-to-ceiling applications. The work requires your own tools and transportation, a valid driver's license and clean driving record, the ability to drive a 24-foot non-CDL straight truck, lift over 50 pounds, and a willingness to travel based on the project rather than the clock.
For warehouse roles, the company has looked for organized people who can manage receiving, restocking, cycle counting, picking, packing, and shipping, are computer literate, and can help train and coordinate a crew. A high school diploma or greater and roughly two to five years of relevant experience have been the baseline. Compensation is based on experience, and the company has offered paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
Roberts hires when the right person turns up, so it is worth introducing yourself even when nothing is posted.
